Plasma Rich Protein/ Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy
Plasma Rich Protein/ Platelet Rich Plasma therapy or PRP is more commonly used in sports medicine, oral medicine, and orthopedic medicine however, due to its immense regenerative capabilities it is gaining popularity in aesthetic medicine as an alternative to surgery. PRP takes a small sample of the patient’s blood, runs it through a centrifuge, and harvests the top layer of the sample which is a protein and platelet rich serum that contains stem cells. This serum can then be injected into the scalp to reverse hair loss, or the male or female sexual organs for a multitude of benefits. PRP therapy for reversing hair loss stimulate the hair follicles, which use nutrients and stem cells found in blood, encouraging circulation and healing that may lead to the growth of new hair. Since the platelet rich sample is derived from blood it is packed with the blood nutrients and stem cells that the hair follicles need to spark new growth. Visible results can range from 4 to 8 months post treatment and will vary from person to person, and new growth may continue for up to 2 years post treatment. However, in most cases growth continues for about a year after the initial treatment.
Another aspect of our PRP therapy service is an injection in the female sex organ. This form of PRP therapy is a simple, non-surgical procedure which involves a platelet plasma rich injection into the upper vaginal area near the clitoris after numbing. With no recovery and near immediate results the benefits include help with urinary leaks, low sexual desire, trouble reaching orgasm or being aroused, vaginal dryness, pain during sex, and lichen sclerosus. Lichen sclerosus, though rare, affects postmenopausal women most features mild to severe symptoms such as itching, discomfort, smooth white patches on skin, easy bruising or tearing most often in the area around the vulva. Lichen sclerosus can improve on its own, however, many women have experienced significant improvement of symptoms after receiving this form of PRP therapy.
The male version, involves a very similar procedure with the injection taking place into the shaft and head of the penis and more male-specific benefits. Such benefits include help with decreased sensation, difficulty achieving or maintaining firmness, decreased penis size, and Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s disease occurs when scar tissue develops in the penis and causes painful, curved erections. Though curved erections are not uncommon, those that cause pain, erectile dysfunction, and prevent the sufferer from having sex are associated with Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s may resolve on its own, however, it may take a long time or the condition could worsen. PRP therapy injected in the male sex organ targets Peyronie’s disease by first reducing inflammation, increasing circulation, and lastly altering the buildup of scar tissue in such a way that is no longer causes painful, inconvenient symptoms. Men who have received this form of PRP therapy have experienced each of the benefits listed above, as well as significant improvement with Peyronie’s disease. PRP therapy is a quick, safe way to experience many aesthetic and overall health benefits. Since the sample is created from the patient’s blood, there is no risk of reaction, rejection, or side effects, although benefits do vary from patient to patient.
Micro-needling and Fillers with PRP Therapy
Facial fillers is another form of PRP therapy that combines hyaluronic acid fillers with platelet rich plasma sample from the patient which is then injected into multiple areas of the patient’s face. The regenerative capabilities of platelet rich therapy helps to restore collagen and facial tissue resulting in a more youthful lifted facial shape. Other benefits include reduced scarring, such as those caused by acne, better skin color from the formation of new blood vessels, and smoother skin tone. The PRP with fillers method is a simple, quick procedure that features a multitude of facial and beauty benefits using a naturally occurring sample from the patient’s own blood.
Much like the fillers, micro-needling can implement PRP therapy as well. The procedure is much the same, except that the platelet rich sample derived from the patient’s blood is inserted into the skin of the face using the micro-needling method. Benefits of micro-needling with PRP include increased blood flow, smoother skin, and rejuvenated collagen for a younger, healthier looking face. Micro-needling and fillers that implement PRP therapy are both natural, painless procedures that leave the face looking and feeling rejuvenated and refreshed
Botox is the name brand for botulinum toxin. This toxin actually works to temporarily weaken the facial muscles resulting in a reduction of wrinkle and lines on the face. This treatment has been safely used for about the past 15 years on millions of patients around the world.
Facial lines are the result of years of skin movement. The muscles of the face are attached directly to the subdermal layers of the skin. Lines form as result of movement and reducing the movement results in fewer lines. The results can be dramatic. See before and after image.
As we age, the face will form lines and also begin to sag. This is a result of a loss of subcutaneous fat, loss of elasticity, and gravity. The result is deep lines in the face. Fillers can serve to replace the lost volume and help lessen or eliminate deep lines.
We use fillers such as Juvéderm, Radiesse, and Belotero. Each filler has a different viscosity which allows it to be used with different sized wrinkles. For deeper lines, a thicker filler is required and for thinner lines a thinner viscosity is used.

Latisse is a prescription treatment that promotes the growth of longer, fuller eyelashes in patients who have inadequate eyelash growth or eyelash thinning over time. Inadequate eyelashes, also known as hypotrichosis, affect both men and women as they age. Latisse has been known to restore eyelash growth in as early as 8 weeks, however, results will vary from person to person. The full treatment lasts for 16 weeks and continued treatment is recommended as lashes will return to their previous appearance if discontinued. Latisse enables those suffering from inadequate eyelashes to regrow their own eyelashes and restore them to a younger, fuller appearance.
